What is Wordzlab?
Wordz Lab is a way to search word lists. It's a crossword puzzle solver, anagram lister, codeword decoder, and a helper for other word games.

You can use it to find words (optionally of a specific length) that start with, end with, or contain certain letters.
More details are in the examples.

Which words are listed?
The words are from the Enable2k North American word list used in well-known word games.
it does not contain any hyphenated words, abbreviations, acronyms, or proper nouns (capitalised words). It also does not contain single-letter words such as "I". Words that have accents are listed without the accents (for example soupçon is shown as soupcon).
In common with most dictionaries (other than school dictionaries) the words in the list are uncensored. So, just like in real life, a few words or their definitions may offend some people.
There's a word missing!
I'm aware that some words are in the latest Scrabble® dictionaries, but not in this list (example: QI). Wordzlab cannot use the latest dictionaries because they are copyright.
How do I search for a word when I know only a few letters?
There is a page of examples showing you the various
flexible ways you can search Wordz Lab.
Why do only some words have a definition?
We've loaded meanings for about two thirds of the words so far. the source of each definition is shown by the superscript number following it.
The definitions are only intended to help identify the usage of a word for word games. they are incomplete, have errors, and are not intended to replace a proper dictionary.
Definitions are taken from the OPTED public domain English dictionary, based on the public domain part of 'the Project Gutenberg Etext of Webster's Unabridged Dictionary', based on the 1913 US Webster's Unabridged Dictionary. As this dictionary dates from 1913, many of the definitions are archaic or obsolete and from WordNet 2.0 Copyright © 2003 by Princeton University. All rights reserved.
